Yesterday we went to check out the one recommended by Hubster's classmate. Going in I really wanted to enroll her in an all day Monday through Friday class, but I realized that I couldn't be away from my baby five days a week. We ended up choosing an all day Monday, Wednesday, Friday class. This way, she'll get some social interaction while learning, but we'll still be able to have our own little park and craft days. Who knew I'd have such a hard time letting go..
The school itself wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but Hubs and I were both impressed by the curriculum. They have a monthly theme that they focus on and that theme is used to help introduce words, letters, and things of that nature. There are also craft projects that go along with the theme to promote learning. It was some really cute stuff that I'm looking forward to having sent home.

I am with you 100%. My son had his open house the other day and i was holding back tears just thinking about dropping him off the first day!! It is hard to let go...I thought I would be feeling a huge weight being lifted, but I know it is good for him. He needs a break from me too :)

Awww! :) It will be ok. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHave fun Veronica! And you too mommy! I think those breaks are so important for you and she is at an age where she will benefit from social interaction with her peers. It's a good thing :)
ReplyDeleteIt was SO hard when I first took Reagan to daycare for the first time. I cried for about 20 minutes.
ReplyDeleteBut she didn't even give me a second thought. She was so excited to be in a new place and meet new friends.
It'll be sad but totally heartwarming too!!

Awww yay! I bet she's going to love it! As much as S drives me crazy ALL DAY LONG, I know that when we finally get her into preschool, she's going to love it, too. I really think things like this are harder on us parents!
ReplyDeleteAhh I am already anxious thinking about sending my little girl to preschool. I mean us stay at home moms spend soo much time with them and then time flys and bam time to let them go. I can imagine this is an emotional time for you! Good to know you can do partial days to ease into it.
