To say that I was
Just to give you guys an idea, here are some of the crazy things I used to do while dating my husband. He probably has no idea that half of these things ever happened, but surprise! They did.
- If we ever happened to spend the night together, I always woke up early to go put some makeup on. I wouldn't go crazy or anything, just some foundation and mascara, to make it look like I woke up looking beautiful. He's lucky if I wear makeup at all these days. It's mostly for special occasions.
- This man has the ability to fall asleep standing up. In college, he lived on campus in a fraternity house which made it all too convenient for him to sleep all the damn time. There would be nights where we had plans, yet I'd get stood up, because sleeping beauty would be passed out in his room. On these nights, I'd drive by just to double check that cars were still in parking lots.
- Anytime we were in the car and a Taylor Swift song came on, I'd turn it up all the way. This was back when Taylor Swift's music actually felt like it applied to my life. You know, You Belong With Me and Love Story... Just for a special added touch, I'd sing certain lyrics extra loud as a sort of hint.
- Once we found out that he had orders to Fort Lewis, I whined a whole lot about how I was going to miss my boyfriend sooooo much. Miami to Tacoma, Washington, is literally across the entire country. I'm pretty sure that was the cherry on top. While I would have missed him tons, I'm fairly confident we would have been just fine. My mom works for an airline, so I got to fly for free all the time, which I took advantage of quite frequently while he was in BOLC.

Haha that's so funny about waking up early to put make up on. I should have thought of that. I totally did the Taylor Swift thing though and played certain songs hoping that my fiance (boyfriend at the time) would listen to certain lyrics that resonated with me! The things that girls do....

Haha this is awesome! Kyle and I never really dated in the traditional sense. We were long distance but we were only together for 3 months before we got married lol.
ReplyDeleteI totally never wear makeup. I put on some mascara for his homecoming in June, but anything more than that and he'd have wondered what happened to me! I'd only been with my (now) finance for about a month and a half before he went to Groton, CT for two months and then Hawaii and I certainly made lots of trips to see him!
ReplyDeleteSo cute :) When we were young, I would always put on makeup and curl my hair before he got home....nowadays, he just gets my natural beauty :)
ReplyDeleteAw that's so cute!! I did the same thing with Taylor Swift songs and I always got the sigh and eye-roll from the boyfriend/hubs. And I'm really glad I wasn't the only girl to get stood up for dates because her man fell asleep--that happened more times than I can count!
ReplyDeleteAw, these are sweet!
ReplyDeleteTom and I dated in high school. I don't recall doing anything terribly odd. I was just odd, period. I'm surprised he didn't run.
i know alot of people that go on dates still.

Aww cute! We did some terribly crazy things when we dated, come to think of it, we still do some really crazy stuff!
ReplyDeleteHah! Taylor Swift. We were so crazy we got his orders to Korea cancelled so he could stay in Kentucky. Lol
ReplyDeleteYou woke up early to put on makeup? Hahahahaha. I seriously laughed out loud at that. I once had a drunken meltdown after way too much vodka and cherry Kool-Aid about how much I was going to miss him when he went to BOLC.
ReplyDeleteI still put makeup (at least foundation/mascara) first thing every morning... Even after 15 years.
ReplyDeleteHaha! We got engaged after dating for 5 months and married 8 months after that. The night I met him, a mutual friend had invited me out to the bar, but I had already gone to bed -- I put on make up, wore my glasses to drive, and then left them in the car, because I was vain as all crap and didn't want to be seen without contacts. Luckily, I'm not that blind and could still see him. We even started talking wedding dates before he ever proposed, and I went dress shopping before I had a ring. Yeah - a bit nuts. But it'll be 8 years and 3 kids this summer :)
ReplyDeleteI would send my now-husband emails with pictures of engagement ring styles I liked. Really subtle I know! lol
