Traveling With Toddlers: Flying

Well, today is the day! Hubster and I are hitting the road with our two little humans. It's not time for us to permanently leave Georgia yet. This is more of a test run, except we'll be on an airplane. Thousands of feet in the air. With other people. For two and a half hours.

Terrified doesn't even come close to what I'm feeling. Not of flying though. Nope, I've been flying all of my life with plenty of situations that felt like near death experiences. I'm terrified to be flying with two uncontrollable beasts.

Hubs insisted on booking a direct flight to try and make it as quick and painless as possible. I was hoping to have a layover (or two) to be able to switch up the scenery and give the girls a chance to walk.

But, in preparation for our trip, I did some grocery shopping and picked up some items that I think will be essential in keeping the peace at 35,000 feet. Each girl gets their own backpack filled with plenty of goodies.

In each backpack (as well as my purse) you can find:
Welch's gummies (tons of them to help with ear popping)
Cereal bars
Granola bars
Goldfish
Animal crackers
Cheez-its
Happy Yogis
Happy Munchies
Mini muffins

I baked chocolate chip zucchini cookies to eat as breakfast.

I picked up some new books and crayons at the dollar section in Walmart. Something new should keep their attention for a little bit.

Wish us luck!! These guys get cranky when they're suck in one place for too long

  3. You can do it! Good Luck!!!! I've done coast to coast with my two (now 4 and 17months) 5 times by myself. It's not painless, but it can be done! The best tip I ever got, was to let them do what keeps them happy and content, as long as they aren't disturbing other passengers, like putting the armrest up and down and up and down 5072 times, you may feel like you want to poke your eyeballs out, but at least they are happy right!?!?!
